Florence HoldemanFlorence Holdeman graduated from The School Of Visual Arts (SVA) in 2003, majoring in film production. In 2001 she began an apprenticeship with editor Brian A. Kates on HBO’s Laramie Project (winner 2002 National Board of Review, best made for TV film, four Emmy nominations).

In addition to writing & directing seven short films while at SVA, Florence also edited three shorts: Unveiled by Ricardo Alvarado; The Bitter Tears of Anie Rexe, directed by Heith Gay; and Superstore, directed by Sam Zalutsky.

Florence continued her post-production work as an editing apprentice on The Woodsman (starring Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, and Mos Def, nominated 2004 Sundance Jury Prize & 2004 Independent Spirit Awards), and as assistant editor on Jonathan Caouette’s Tarnation (winner 2005 National Society of Film Critics Awards, Best Non-Fiction Film, winner, London Film Festival, nominee 2004 Gotham Awards).

In 2004 Florence began working with award winning Director, Kristi Jacobson, on her feature length documentary, TOOTS, about famed legendary saloonkeeper Toots Shor. Florence was associate producer and additional editor on TOOTS, which premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival.

Florence lives and works in New York City.
